- Dessert apple and good for juicing – sweet with some acidity
- Medium size, smooth skinned, conical fruit. Pale green to yellow skin blushed bright scarlet.
- Early season – pick late August onwards and use September-October
- A very heavy cropper and frost and canker resistant so suitable for northern Britain
Dates from 1947, a cross between James Grieve and Worcester Pearmain – first produced in Sweden (original name Katja)
