  • Cooker – cooks to a firm, sharp puree. The white flesh is tender, juicy and sweet, with a pleasant acidity and slightly perfumed.
  • A large oblong-shaped apple which has prominent ribs on the sides
  • Very large pale yellow or silvery green fruit with a very smooth skin.
  • Pick early October. Stores through to January.
  • Medium sized tree, heavy cropper

 

An extremely old variety of cooking apple from the 1600’s, with an unusual shape from which its name is derived.
